I selected Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams as my Book of the Month (BOTM) for March, and I was pleased with my choice. This debut novel is surprisingly funny, in a wry way, and engaging. The narrative style feels fresh as well.
Queenie Jenkins navigates two cultures (Jamaican and British) while living in London and is also figuring out her career and romantic relationships. It's a struggle that many young women will understand.
