There was a lot to dislike about Queenie. She made many decisions that I struggled with, and several times I was outright angry with her. However, there is a lot to love about Queenie as well.
I enjoyed this read, but it was not one that I could do in one sitting. It's one that I had to pause frequently, so that I could regroup. Sometimes, it was because I was angry with Queenie (as mentioned above), but others she did something that touched me in just the right way, that I had to pause and let it sink in before I could keep going.
Overall, this was a good read. I can't say that it was one of the greatest books I've ever read, but still it was really good. The back compares this story to Bridget Jones, and I can easily see why it receives that comparison. Queenie is a character that is worth your time, to be sure.
