For all of the other reviews that I read that said the end was worth it, thank you! Queenie follows a young Jamaican woman living in London. We follow her interactions with friends, family, work and dating. For the first half I was so upset, frustrated, irritated, at Queenie, at her friends, at her boss... I wanted to quit the book. But the reviews told me not to and I couldn't agree more. Because the uncomfortable and painful moments on the page are what many woman think and live through all the time. I think many readers will be able to identify with the story and the struggle, especially when you are reminded that she is 25. Life is hard.

I will add that I absolutely loved her grandmother and often found that when I was mad at another character her grandmother was close by to make me laugh and lighten the mood. Everyone should have Queenie's grandmother in their life. I listened to the audiobook and I think that contributed to bringing the characters alive. I definitely recommend!
