Queenie's bad news at the doctor's office was described in a way that had me wanting to know more about her feelings. I could relate to how her relatives are and the uncomfortable ways they discuss things and expect you to agree with them. The whole, how beautiful the black babies would look with an interracial couple still holds on to the, if you're light you're bright, brown, you're down and black, get back ideology is blatant in the first chapter. I think Queenie needs to step back and reflect on her choices in life and love
