This years highly anticipated read. I am excited about this book. First impressions...fantastic! From the first sentence.....already has me feeling some type of way about this story. Queenie's voice...witty and raw. Aunt Maggie...I want to know more about the woman just from the way Queenie describes her. The themes this book touches on, the writing style, the story itself...of course I want even more. Author Candice Carty-Williams is praised for giving us a story that is gut wrenching, beautiful, and forces us to see things in a perspective that doesn't always come in pretty packages of perfection.
