With an opening line like "In the stirrups now. Wish you were here ...." how could you not want to know more about the character who would send a text at that moment, and what her relationship was with the recipient? I was drawn in by all the buzz I had read about Queenie and the glorious cover, and the first impression excerpts definitely left me wanting more.
