This book starts with a lively voice, and the characterization is also very strong - Bertrand, a coach we meet on the first page, comes to life with small details, and I connected the narrator right away - although young, he is thoughtful and observant. The vibe reminded me a little of The Basketball Diaries, which started off innocently but turned quite dark, so I'm curious to see where this book goes.
