I hate saying that such a personal story isn't my taste, but I've never been a big fan of memoirs, especially one as sad as this one. It's not a bad book by any means, it's written well. It's just not my typical go-to book. If you're wanting to educate yourself about racism in America and what it's like to grow up under such harsh conditions, this book is for you.
