Memoirs don't typically appeal to me unless I have some kind of interest in the author. Here, I really don't know who this person is but I can see, by the synopsis, that he has a story that probably needs to be told. Gay men of color are underrepresented and highly stereotyped when they are. But his writing style did not appeal to me. I understand what he is trying to do in the first chapter, but the back and forth between what seems to be current time and his childhood felt a bit chaotic and disorganized. It felt rambling and didn't draw me in.
