I love a good memoir and this one hits home for me. The story of this young, gay, African Americans life growing up in Ohio is difficult, to say the least. Overcoming all the hate and racism is a huge part of the story and trying to get a grip on his addiction is another. This First Impression had me laughing, crying and nodding my head in agreement as I found it to be relatable and relevant. I cannot wait to keep reading!
