Interesting at first, but didn't hold my interest

The premise is interesting, and I enjoyed the angle the author took and the back and forth between being hit on at a bar by someone assuming he played basketball and flashbacks to his actual experience playing basketball as a kid. However, I lost interest fairly quickly. It's not my usual genre, so I'm sure lots of people will really enjoy it.
