Compelling memoir
Punch Me Up to the Gods is a compelling memoir. Brian Broome writes of his childhood as a gay Black teenager in the United States. The excerpt is simultaneously well written and easy to read; I really liked the way sentences and paragraphs flowed. I'm looking forward to reading more.
I love that the cover's text looks so punchy - it seems well-suited to the title.
