What an adventure!
Selestra is the heir to her mother's oath with the king. It is her destiny to see the deaths of others and steal their souls for the king. Nox is a young man who takes it upon himself to stop the king and the witches that surround him.
This is such an interesting world of magic and oaths, of immortality and mortality, of adventure and heroics. I was sucked in from the very first page. I will admit that I would have loved to know more about the history of magic, but I'm glad it didn't take away from the story.
Selestra and Nox are each interesting characters, as well as their friends, family, and enemies. They had such depth and emotion to them. I honestly want more to see how much more each of them can grow.
And the story itself was adventurous and heartbreaking. It is filled with death and lessons. There were multiple instances where I wasn't sure how the story would end. I can't wait to read more from the author!
