Thank you BookishFirst for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.

I loved To Kill a Kingdom, so I was really excited for this one. There are not that many Rapunzel retellings out there so it was refreshing to read.

This book was good but did not live up to my expectations. I had such high hopes after loving To Kill a Kingdom, but it fell a little short. I felt the slight rapunzel inspiration, but it felt too far off to be classified as that. I wish there was a bit more of inspiration from that or she just classified it as her own story.

I love enemies to lovers books and this one didnt bring it enough in my opinion. I was not invested in the relationship between Selestra and Nox. I was hoping for a bit more there between them.

I do wish the cover was a little bit better, it is not my favorite. It doesnt draw my eye. and as a "Rapunzel" retelling, I dont get any of that
