I really liked this one and used my points to claim a copy. I haven’t read any of this author’s previous books but I am adding her to my list of authors to watch after this. What I liked about this is that it had the same sensationalism as most YA have making it exciting and fast paced but it also has more depth than most YA. It’s not a replica of Hunger Games or Throne of Glass. I also love retellings and this one is so unique. I haven’t seen many Rapunzel retellings so that was exciting. The cover is gorgeous! It is what first caught my attention. It doesn’t look like the typical YA cover art but at the same time it has that cover list element that YA has become known for. The writing is well done and flows. It kept my attention which isn’t always easy since I read a lot of ya as a youth librarian. There are so many shiny and shallow ya published these days and this is not one.
