I really enjoyed Princess of Souls. Alexandra Christo takes the idea of Rapunzel and makes her a witch's heir in a magical floating tower. When her future entangled with Nox, one of the Kingdom's Officers, she must escape her tower. Not only must she save herself and Nox, she knows must save the kingdom for the immortal king who eats his civilians' souls.
I really enjoyed the story, and Christo creates a wonderfully magical world full of hot air balloons and pirate ships. The characters are likable even if they don't have a lot of dimensions. The action is well-timed, and the plot is well-paced. I just had to keep turning pages to see what happened next; I hated when I had to put it down.
This is a great fantasy book. The cover artwork is perfect for the book with great coloring and has its own magical qualities. The eyes are especially well done.
