I'm so impressed with the concept of the book. It is as if Greek mythology met a Rapunzel retelling, with a dash of soul magic, getting this book! The concept of fate, and stealing the King's immortality, is, of course, an excellent one and I enjoyed the author's take on it. However, I did feel that there were elements of this that felt too YA at times. Some of the plot, and the decisions of the characters felt incredibly predictable, like I have read it a thousand times before. I do know that this is set in the same world as the author's previous book, To Kill A Kingdom, which I have not read yet. But I didn't feel as if I couldn't understand what was going on, and I thought the worldbuilding was pretty welcoming to a newcomer such as myself! Overall, this is a great choice if you're looking for a quick read, a fantasy standalone, that has elements of Greek mythos, fairytale retellings, and a fun plot!
