Princess of Souls doesn't waste any time, immediately conveying the basic premise of the book--the immortal king, the witch, the taking of souls--before setting up the central plot of the book. Selestra is the heir to her family's magic, but she's also essentially a prisoner who has been alone all her life. Alongside her POV is Nox's, who so far is the more mysterious character, confident and mission-driven. I'm so curious to find out how their fates will intersect and whether Selestra will finally be able to break free! The cover is a great match for the book.
