This book's first line hooked me to read more. The main character Selestra is a young witch. She takes over her mother's position as the king's witch. Selestra touches Nox in her very first prediction that their fates become entwined. The main character's ability to see death is so fascinating. I am excited to read this book since it takes in the same world as To kill a kingdom. My first look left me on a cliffhanger, and I wanted to know what happened next. This seems like it’s going to be a great book.
