Selestra sounds like your ordinary cynical YA protagonist trapped in a stifling castle with the weight of her mother's and king's expectations crushing her spirit, and yet I love her like I would love my firstborn. I didn't expect to feel attached to her, but when I learned what she saw of her fate, the level of empathy I had for her reared its furious head. Nox, who is entwined in her fate, sounds like your ordinary brat with bold dreams (though presumably with a sword to back him up), and I knew I'd like him the minute his chapter began. He's a sassy, vengeful thing, but not foolhardy (I think?) and the dynamic between the two seems like it'll be one hell of an enemies-to-friends(-to-lovers?) experience I'll get to read. Can't wait to see how this story goes!
