The premise that her touch creates visions of people's deaths is really interesting. I really loved that Selestra has green hair and snake eyes, a physical otherworldiness that just compounds her separation, adds to others' fear of her. The wish part of the bargain makes the setup of this tale not completely dark. The fact that the people risk their souls makes the king more interesting, less terrible. Nox is charming and rash--I liked him immediately.
