Thank you BookishFirst, author David Yi, and his publishing company for providing me an advanced reading copy of this book. I really enjoyed reading about the history of male beauty, getting all the beauty tips and how much of it applies not only to guys but also for girls and the nonbinary as well.
The First Impression sample I saw had all the pages in color whereas the ARC was in black and white. I understand the budget that limited the ARC from being printed and distributed in its full-color glory so I can only imagine how beautiful the entire book would look if every page had colored pages. The colors that I saw in the first impression were vibrant, bright, and very eye catching. I could see a copy of this book on coffee tables, in spas and lounges, and being gifted!
Overall I think the information and beauty guides in this book are really interesting and fun to read. I think the lingo and trendy words throughout the text make it entertaining and engaging. The drawings are really good and pretty to look at. But even with all the beauty guides and funny text, I probably wouldn't reread the book and/or refer to it for help. The internet is just too accessible and more detailed/personalizable than the book. But pretty boys was still pretty good.
