I liked Practice Girl and how it went against cliche time and time again. The reason for the three stars is that I found it slogged on a bit too much and there was an unrealistic transition to self realization. Overall, it was a fun read but it wasn't earth shattering (what I reserve my 4 & 5 star reads for). Jo was a good character, though I think sometimes she was oblivious and sometimes her actions were unrealistic. This was like a teen flick put to paper, where some things would just operate better in film than in a first-person novel like this. The best part for me was the family relationship growth and I would have loved more time devoted to that.

I think the cover was intriguing but not something I would have picked up. Overall, a good read and something I would recommend to those trying to find themselves. Also, I love Dax. Best character!
