Don't get me wrong, I do feel bad for our main character, and the boys who use her deserve a special form of retribution, but I don't know how this book could turn into the empowering book I want it to be. Call me old, but I think that this is the perfect example of someone who isn't ready to have sex. She is looking for the wrong things in the wrong people, doesn't know who she is yet, and is flippant about her therapist's advice, who only wants to help her. I'm not sure how much growing someone can do in the length of a YA novel to get her to a healthy place both physically and mentally.
