My heart goes out to Jo Beckett, protagonist of Practice Girl by Estelle Laure. She really wants to be loved, and finds that in response she's callously referred to as a "practice girl." Not to mention, she's grieving the sudden loss of her father (years prior, but does that make it any easier?).

I am hopeful that in the rest of the book, Jo will find her agency and start to receive what she deserves.

The cover is cool, featuring a teen girl slouching with her hands on her hips. I like that the title is legible, but scratched out to convey that she's not a practice girl.
