Admittedly, Jo Beckett is a little oblivious and naive in Practice Girl. But in all fairness, most girls that age should be dreaming about the same things that she is - rainbows, puppies and happily ever after. But her "one of the guys" position has put her in an unenviable position she didn't even know exists. While not a blanket statement on men, it calls attention to yet another way that men assign women roles irregardless of their own feelings, wants and desires.
