Oh, my heart is breaking for Jo. I had never heard of the term used as the title before, but am somehow not surprised. Seeing her hurt and betrayal - by her teammates, her best friend - felt vividly real. The little line in there about her friend who never checked in when her dad died - that's a specific kind of pain and I know exactly what she's talking about. I want to keep reading and hope that she gets the love and kindness she so much deserves.
