"I’m not the kind of girl guys want to introduce to their parents. I’m the kind
of girl they want to introduce to the back seats of their cars." Jo Beckett's story seems like it could go hard into a romcom territory, with each recounted occurrence of times she has pursued a physical connection without communication of her wants and needs, ending in disaster. The writing is great and I think the heartbreak of Jo's home life, loss of her dad, and desire for human connection and love is portrayed so clearly that it hurts to read. If you're in the mood for a great coming of age story that involves misteps and self-actualization, this should do the trick.
