Most YA novels today are written for adults as much as teenagers but this one is definitely geared toward the younger crowd. I remember being a teenager but this is as different an experience as I could think of. Even as an a much older sister whose younger sibling got all the attention and step parents I was the complete opposite of this girl. I do think it's an important message for teens though.
