I had a lot of fun with Heather Graham's "Out of Darkness". It centers around Sarah Hampton and an incident that happened during her high school years at a haunted house attraction.
She and a group of her friends, along with her boyfriend and cousin who has down syndrome are witness to (and almost victims of) a gruesome scene. We then fast forward to them as adults, all leading separate lives until the past comes back to haunt them.
The characters are well written and engaging to read. It was a hard book to put down once I started and finished it in just one sitting.
If you are a fan of quick, suspenseful, mysteries than this would be a good series to get into! This seems to be the first in a series for the author and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
