An exciting book with thoughtful characters
This serial killer book has several surprising twists and well-written characters. Although I like all of the characters (especially Sarah and Tyler, the main couple, who have a romantic connection), my favorite character is Davey. Davey has Downs Syndrome, and is in many ways braver and more capable than some characters without special needs.
I really enjoyed that this book included Davey as a significant character, not just a side plot. His inclusion makes the entire book much more believable, and I think that readers will be prompted to think more carefully about their own attitudes towards special-needs neighbors and schoolmates. The book is not preachy about it, just matter-of-fact about some prejudices that exist in real life.
All in all, a good book made better by incorporating Davey!
