In the prologue you are introduced to Sarah, a popular but down to earth cheer leader, her boyfriend Tyler, her cousins Davey (who is kind as all get out but has down syndrome), Susie, Sarah's best friend, Hannah, and Sean. They are at a Haunted House. Davey gets petrified because he says his father (who died last year at war) told him not to go because the people there are evil.
