I really want to know where this story is going to go. I have many theories, but I can't wait to get to read the rest and find out if they are right.
I love that this story starts on Halloween. This is my favorite holiday and there are not nearly enough stories that utilize the natural creepiness and horror of the day. I know something bad is about to happen, but it is enhanced by the fact that it's Halloween.
I also am really loving Davey's character. I have a cousin with down syndrome and I can understand the struggle that is described here of wanting to do nice things and spend time with your cousin and also sometimes feeling held back.
I felt like there was a lot of telling and not as much showing with actions, but this is also the very beginning of the story so there is still room for this to balance out.
