This book excerpt grabbed me with the fact that Davey, who has Downs Syndrome, seems to be the most insightful character. He and his cousin Sarah are both very "real" to me even after just this short introduction to them. Sarah's conflict about skipping the much-desired haunted house and embarrassment about Davey ring true. Most of all, now I REALLY need to know what happens next!
