High School Jerks in a Spooky Halloween House

I liked the costume descriptions of the characters. There was a lot of information provided in this very short excerpt. We find out that Davey's dad was in the army, I believe, and that the dad is dead but has somehow warned Davey that the bad things in a haunted house are real and not pretend. Something bad is supposed to happen this particular night, but the details of that will have to wait until the full book is available. I was worried through the beginning of the book that Davey was going to be abandoned by his cousin; that might possibly still happen.
