Because the prologue is based entirely in the past, I did not get a clear impression as to the actual plot. However, in five short pages, the author definitely created a complete setting and piqued my interest for the rest of the book. The cover does not make too much sense yet, except for the fact that New York City is where the book begins. Sarah Hampton is shaping up to be a good character, but her cousin Davey and his abilities are what will make me look up Out of the Darkness on release date. The supernatural element will add a lot of suspense and I am curious to see where it goes.
