Our Last Echoes is so well written it will have your heart racing, filling you with fear, suspense, and questions, and you will not want to put it down. This is one of the best I've read in a while and I suddenly need more of Kate Alice Marshall's books! Sophia Novak had lived a fairly unnatural life. She gets a strange call from Abby Ryder and learns that she'd once lived on an island in Alaska with her mother when she was little, though she has no memory of this. When she returns to Bitter Rock in search of answers and her mother, she gets more than she bargained for. Abby, Sophia, and their new friend Liam go on quite the adventure between worlds, and discover secrets that have been hidden for years. Will Sophia find out what happened to her mother? Will she survive? Is she even real? I won't spoil the answers to those questions. I will say, I was left with questions of my own. First, I now need a story for Abby to see where her new adventure lies. Second, do Sophia and Liam stay together after everything is done? And what happened to William Hardcastle after everything. His role seemed significant enough that there should have been more resolution with his character at the end of the story. Either way..still a 5-star read!
