- the book started really strong and i was so invested and engaged with what was going on
- it was so atmospheric and i was getting all the goosebumps from reading it
- however, halfway through, not sure what happened but the book started to lose its momentum and i started to get a bit bored
- it was still creepy but it just lost its steam or something
- however, the ending got me excited for the third book and that even though her books are standalones, they are all set in the same world so there are definitely some correlation between them all

compared to her other book, rules for vanishing, i definitely enjoyed rules for vanishing a lot more. it was just more atmospheric and the momentum was constant rather than the last echoes where it died a bit in the second half of the book. i'm still intrigued by the third book based on the ending though so i can't wait for it
