From the first page you can feel the ominous character of the island itself in this engaging book. I read only an excerpt and was miffed when I was through. I NEED to see what happens. Where are all the disappeared going? What happened to Sophie's Mom? Are the explanations paranormal or mundane? Will Sophie's duplicity be uncovered by her new acquaintances? Not sure that I like the 'recovered document' trope but I'm willing to give it a go to find out how the story evolves. For fans of the tv show 'Lost' or the real life mystery of Roanoke Island.
