I really enjoyed joining Ophelia on her journey to figure out her identity and sexuality. Was there an excess of drama? Of course there was, this was a book about teenagers, dating, feelings, and identity issues. I was very happy to see that Ophelia had some good advocates and people who had more figured out to help her on her way. I also really liked that there were different ethnicities so cultural influence on queer identity was also touched on. (I want to see the room of Pride flags!!). Ophelia is known for her floral patterns on all of her clothes and for being absolutely boy crazy. But when she starts to notice another girl in class in a new and confusing way she doesn’t know how to talk about it with any of her friends. To make things even more complicated it’s only a few weeks until prom and that is all she and her friends can talk about. If you want a feel good story that will bring tears to your eyes this is definitely a story you should pick up.
