This is one of the best young adult books I've read in a long time. I really enjoyed getting to know Ophelia and her friends and family. This book was like getting a really reassuring hug from someone who you know and trust. I wish I could step into this book and join this friend group. The author handled Ophelia's inner turmoil about her sexuality and how that would change her friends and family's view of her. It was messy and scary and some people really helped her on her journey and others stood in her way which is very realistic.

Each of Ophelia's friends had such amazing and well thought out backstories. They seemed REAL which is a really hard thing for the author to pull off without dragging the narrative off course. I loved that Ophelia is Cuban-American and that really added to who she is, rather than just a throwaway comment, and never mentioned again. And the cover is absolutely stunning! Go pick this one up asap!
