I was lucky to win an eARC of this book, and I devoured it in a day.
As someone who related to Ophelia, being biracial and discovering her sexuality in HS, this story was a nostalgic and emotional ride. I loved every page, every character, every quote.
This is not a romance nor a romcom. Some are wrongly categorizing it as that. Rather, it is a beautiful coming of age (and coming out) contemporary where a girl figures herself out and realizes she has amazing support along the way. It is heartwarming and perfect.
What I also didn’t expect was just how distinct and well-developed the side characters are. Though this is indeed Ophelia’s story, I absolutely adored her friends as well and wanted them all to have happy endings.
I laughed and cried and can’t wait for others to experience this story. I also loved it so much I pre-ordered a copy and am anxiously awaiting by my mailbox for it
