Just hearing (or reading in this case I suppose) the name Ophelia takes me back to high school, reading Hamlet for English class. But the Ophelia here is not one that descends into madness. I really liked Ophelia. I thought she was cute and spunky and I honestly want Cuban food right now. But let's back up.
Starting with the cover, I loved it! The pink definitely reads romance and the illustration is so so beautiful. The roses because of her love for rose gardening - everything was perfect!
Now onto the story itself. I thought it was really well written. I liked how alive Ophelia came and how her inner struggles were developed. Ophelia got really great character development, and I think that's what made the story really shine.
I did not know at all that this was a debut author, so all of the writing was amazing and I will definitely be reading more!
