There’s been a few givens about Ophelia almost all of her life: she always has a crush on a boy and she loves flowers.
Ophelia defines herself this way too, so she’s ok with everyone else doing it too.
Until she’s not.

Prom isn’t far off. Ophelia always pictured herself going with a cute boy and her best friends.
Her friend Agatha doesn’t care much about a date,
Her friend Lindsay has two guys who want to take her. Wesley and Sammie have both had a crush on her and both compete for her attention.
Sammie is Ophelia’s other best friend. So his misery over Lindsay hits her too.

Everyone is expecting Ophelia to be stressing about who she’s going to go to the prom with. But Ophelia hasn’t brought up a new crush in a long time.

Ophelia does have a new crush but she’s afraid to tell everyone. She has finally admitted to herself that she has a crush on Talia. She doesn’t know how this can be. She’s not sure how her friends and family will see her if she isn’t her regular old “boy crazy” Ophelia.

More than anything Ophelia isn’t sure how to define herself if she isn’t “boy crazy Ophelia”. That’s the image she always had of herself too, she’s afraid of losing sight of who she is.

More than this story being about Ophelia and Talia, it’s about Ophelia learning to love herself for who she is. She’s only 17, she doesn’t have to have everything figured out.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked Ophelia, I liked Agatha, I liked some of the minor characters a lot too. Lindsay was kind of irritating but I’m sure she really did think her prom date choice was the most important thing in the world lol

I read an early excerpt of this book on Bookish First and got immediately pulled in. So I read the book right after it had been released.
