I’m not sure what I was fully expecting from this YA novel but tears was not one of them. The range of emotions that you feel when reading this is amazing. Ophelia is someone I can clearly picture & I feel a connection to via how ruff life is at different stages. High school can be a pool of emotions & expressing yourself even to your closest friends is hard. I love that she doesn’t have exactly the right term for what she is. The I’m in a gray area is reassuring for those who are unsure of their sexual identity. I love the representation of every type of person. The diversity of the characters draws you into remembering what high school was like for everyone. I’d love a follow up book that goes into Ophelia’s college years to explore her journey more, along with the journey of all her friends: Sammie, Ags, Lindsay, Wes, Zaq, Talia. This is a great book that I will share with many.
