What I liked about this first impression was how I could immediately relate to the main character and the struggles that she is going through to find herself. As someone who did not come to terms with their queerness, it is nice to see that representation in a book. I also think that it is important that the main character is not a white female because it adds substance to the lack of representation that queer people who are not white have in books.
