I'm unsure about where I stand with this one. On the one hand I like seeing Patty and Gene's love and relationship unfold knowing that there is a mystery waiting to be uncovered as to how she broke his heart. On the other hand I am having a hard time connecting to Gene, he seems like he gets in his own way a lot, and there are a few things that just don't really jive with me (such as his pressuring Patty for sex).
The cover is interesting, but it does seem a little vague, like not so much a historical fiction cover but more of a romance cover.
