I love books set in the '60s and '70s, but I'm not a big fan of insta-love or coming-of-age stories. Still, the premise intrigued me enough to read some of the excerpt. This seems to be about a young man who reacts to life's stumbling blocks, but I didn't feel any of the emotion. I started skimming after a few pages, then gave up.
