Manic Pixie high school sweetheart meets another story about a boy growing up in the shadow of his father and SHOCK...I bet things turn out fine in the end. There is something so overdone about this type of plot that I just find it boring at worst or a walk around the block, looking at all the familiar sights at best.
There is an audience for this book, that is for sure, but I grew out of this narrative structure when I was 13.
