Whoop whoop! I guess fall is the season for historical fiction reads! I have many thoughts about this brilliant first Impression. First, the cover is striking. At first, I thought it was a gem but on closer examination, it's a shiny, crinkly balloon. So A plus for drawing the reader into the book. Plot wise, I think it's a great start. It's very interesting and I can't wait to read more about Gene's development.
